Dear Guest, welcome to my page on the internet.

As a Chef and catering professional I have very clear aims and objectives to both you the customers, and to the Kimberley Hotel. On this page I will talk you through them.

Firstly, a bit about myself. My passion for food first appeared whilst helping my Dad serve prestigious sporting events at the age of 13. From there I realised that there must be more to food than everything with ketchup!

Catering College loomed as the beauty therapy department was in the same building. Ahhhh, good times. Then the real work began.

My life dramatically changed as I became a Commis Chef in a Premier 3 star hotel on the outskirts of London. It was here where I first learnt about life in a busy kitchen. From here I furthered my experience working in quality hotels and restaurants in Southern England and taking the best bits onto my next position. It was in 2000 when I was offered the unique and envious opportunity to work in Guernsey under chef Kelvin Clark, of the World Master Chef Society. This took my cooking abilities to a new level of understanding. A year later I moved back to the mainland to take the role of Head Chef. After two years, the Channel Islands called again; once more to work with a Master Chef. Three years later I needed a new challenge, and so that brings us up to date here at the Kimberley Hotel Harrogate.

My main aims at the Kimberley are:

- To source and use the best of local produce

- Build a team capable of providing the highest possible standards

- To freshly prepare and produce everything in house

- To inspire and educate

Finally, I believe in this day and age everybody has become more food aware, which keeps us chef's on our toes! So I think it is our duty to have as much information as possible about all of our produce. I will be gathering information from all of my suppliers, making sure that everything that comes through our doors can be traced to specific farmlands. Where possible, I will be going to these farms myself to have a look and speak to the farmers and growers alike.
